Kate is a native Californian who has called Texas home since 2005. She received both her bachelor’s degree and her master’s degree in Communication Disorders from Texas State University in 2012 and 2014, respectively. During her master’s program, Kate pursued an area of focus in Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) which allowed her to receive additional training in the evaluation and treatment of individuals with ASD. Before joining the OT Connection team, Kate worked in the schools.
While in the schools, Kate worked with students between the ages of 3-22. She has worked with students who have a variety of disorders including receptive/expressive language disorders, articulation/phonology disorders, fluency disorders, autism spectrum disorders, intellectual disabilities, visual and hearing impairments, as well as complex communication needs. Kate served as a member of the autism diagnostic team and the assistive technology for her district. Additionally, she worked with students who were part of the Regional Day School Program for the Deaf.
During her free time, Kate enjoys reading, spending time with friends and family, trying out new restaurants, traveling, and trying to get her dog Lady to pose for pictures.
